This is the second workshop of the ADVANCE Hispanic Women in STEM project. This 2nd NETWORKing Workshop to Address Academic Advancement of Hispanic Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is organized by Universidad Metropolitana (UMET) in collaboration with the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) as a continuation of the first workshop held in 2012. The primary goal of this project is to provide a forum that will lay the groundwork for scientifically documenting the issues and concerns the advancement of Hispanic women in the STEM academic pipeline and to establish the networks that can address these concerns on a broader national level. This conference will include women faculty in STEM fields in Puerto Rico, deans, university presidents, and other administrators, representing institutions from the Ana G. Mendez University System (Sistema Universitario Ana G. Mendez), the University of Puerto Rico System (Universidad de Puerto Rico), and the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico System (Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico (UIPR)).
